Aims and Scope

The Geoinformatics FCE CTU Journal aims to publish theoretical, empirical, and applied research papers in geoinformatics and all geosciences close to computer processing. The journal's main emphasis is on design, implementation and use of open source geographical software, especially in areas of:

  • Open source Geographic Information System (GIS) and all relevant tools,
  • Web Map Services, Map servers and all sorts of Internet publishing of geographic data,
  • Geodesy, Land and Engineering surveying, Adjustment of geodetic measurements and networks, precision analysis
  • Computer based cartography, Photogrammetry and 3D scanning,
  • Education in GIS systems,
  • Cadastre, Legislation (e.g. EU legislation in geographic data publishing and use).

The geographical reference in the journal's name merely signifies that it is an initiative of Czech scholars, and the acronym FCE CTU refers to Faculty of Civil Engineering of Czech Technical University in Prague. The Geoinformatics FCE CTU Journal is published twice a year and only in electronic form; articles are available as open access and the journal encourages young researchers to submit their work.

Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice
