FOSS4G-CEE & Geoinformatics Prague 2012 – call for papers
Dear colleagues, dear friends,
I hope you enjoyed FOSS4G-CEE & Geoinformatics Prague 2012. We had a great number of excellent and interesting presentations and I am writing to all of you to ask you to consider submitting your presentation as an article for our electronic journal Geoinformatics FCE CTU. It would be nice if we could publish a special issue dedicated to FOSS4G-CEE 2012. This planned volume should be released in the second half of this year so, namely considering the review process, there is not much time left. But I believe that in most cases your presentations were more or less very close to the form of an article, so they should not need much work to be spent on. Also I would highly appreciate if you would kindly help us with the review process as reviewers, just let me know.
With best regards from Prague
Aleš Čepek
Submitting a paper and review process
Submission of the article
Any article based on a presentation from the conference is a priory accepted for the review process. Please let us know at geoinformatics@fsv.cvut.cz that you are going to submit a manuscript. Confirming email will be sent as soon as possible (not later than second day, please do not hesitate to remind as about a pending request if you do not hear from the journal in time)
Review process
To each submitted paper is assigned a reporter, whose role is to communicate with the author and anonymous reviewer.
Instructions to authors
Please see Geoinformatics_FCE_CTU#Instruction_to_authors and examples and guidelines at [1]. Should you use Microsoft Word for preparing your manuscript, we strictly recommend to keep at format 97-2003 (.doc). Conversion to LaTeX for final typesetting is based on conversion Writer2LaTeX from LibreOffice writer (conversion of mathematical formulas is surprisingly good).
When your article is accepted after successful review, you can see a preview at [2]; volume 8 is planned to be the special issue dedicated to the FOSS4G CEE 2012, volume 9 is going to be the next volume (in case we lack enough articles, these two volumes will be merged to a single issue; but with 4 promised articles from FOSS4G CEE 2012 this crisis plan should not be needed).
Deadlines
The deadline is fuzzy ... we must publish the issue this year, should it be October, it would be OK. The most critical part and time demanding is the review process. So please, try to submit your papers as soon as possible. If really needed, we can postpone the release date as late as December. Should any article miss the release, it wont' be lost, but included in the next release next year.
In any case, do not hesitate to contact your reporter or geoinformatics@fsv.cvut.cz .
